Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 is out

At long last, Mozilla Firefox 3 is out of the oven. It's not ready for eating just quite yet, but after years spent tweaking to get the recipe just right, the open-source browser is finalized and fully-baked. It's now sitting on the windowsill, cooling off.

Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 is here. The release candidate stage is the stage right between beta and final release, and it's the last chance for developers to test their code against the browser before it's push out into the world full-force. It's also the stage at which add-on developers can update their browser extensions without worrying about further code changes.

So if you've been holding off downloading FF3 because you're waiting for your favorite extension or you're nervous about running unstable software, you may want to wait a couple more weeks -- the final browser is expected in June. But for the rest of us, it's stable enough to use every day. So was the beta 5 release, which we've been using full-time for the last month or two, but this RC1 release has several improvements.

The Mozilla team has made changes to Firefox 3's user interface on Vista, XP, Mac OS X and Linux, all based on user feedback. They've also fine-tuned some of the behaviors in the location bar (also known as the "Awesome bar," the awesomeness which is sure to be a source of debate). Page rendering has been evened out across the various platforms, and some tweaks have been made to the JavaScript engine to improve the performance of script-heavy webapps like Gmail. Mike Beltzner of Mozilla writes about these and other improvements in the release announcement.

Crystal Liu in Mummy 3??

Rumour has it that young Chinese actress Liu Yifei might be starring in Hollywood movie Mummy 3: Curse of the Dragon. Besides Brendan Fraser, Asian stars Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh have agreed to join the movie. The producer is still looking for a young Asian actress to fit in a supporting role, and Yifei has caught their attention. Yifei is the next best uprising star coming out of China after Zhang Zhiyi.
Liu Yifei is currently filming Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan and Jet Li, while the filming of Mummy 3 is set to start filming in China in August, so the schedule might be a bit tight. However, since that Jet Li is also tied with both movies, I doubt the schedule is not an issue for Yifei. Crystal Liu is most famous with TV drama Return of the Condor Heroes, which was arguably the most viewed TV drama in Asia in 2006.

Moving your email in Outlook Express

Today, my friend ask me about how to move his email in Outlook Express from one computer to another computer (or if you format your harddisk and you want all of the email in Outlook Express are all in there). This trick I found when I'm in high school and have many time to search for Windows behaviour (now much time spend to make money :D). The trick is very simple, first copy your data in Outlook Express that located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

And you can look that your data are in file with .dbx extention. Each folder in Outlook Express has it own .dbx file. Then copy that all files (if you want all), and do this step:

1. Create the same structure of folder name that you had in previous Outlook Express (be carefull, it's case sensitive, I think)
2. Close your Outlook Express program
3. Overwrite all .dbx file that you copy into the new Outlook Express data folder (it has the same format with the one that you copy .dbx file from)

Then you can open back your Outlook Express and everthing is in there :D
